Bondhu Highlights Eco‑Solutions at Environment Fair 2026

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change organized a week‑long Environment Fair from 9–15 July 2026 at Sher‑e‑Bangla Nagar, Agargaon, Dhaka. Alongside, the Bangladesh Forest Department launched the National Tree Plantation Campaign and National Tree Fair, running from 9 July to 9 August 2026.

The inauguration ceremony on 9 July 2026 (Thursday) was graced by Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman, who officially opened both events under the inspiring theme: “Let Us Adorn the Country through Tree Plantation, Bangladesh First.”

Every year, Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (Bondhu) takes part in this national initiative with a dedicated stall, reflecting its vision of environmental conservation and climate action.

This year, Bondhu showcased six ongoing projects: Bondhu Chula (improved cook stove), Mangrove Afforestation, Climate‑friendly Agriculture, Climate‑friendly Tree Plantation, Solar‑Powered Drinking Water Supply, Energy Saving Stove (Sashroyi Chula).

The stall was decorated with eco‑friendly themes, featuring demo presentations, display boards, and multimedia documentaries. The representatives at the stall shared insights on project activities with visitors and distributed informative leaflets.

The exhibition’s highlight was Shuru, a startup showcasing home‑spun grameen fabrics with sustainable innovation.

At the closing ceremony on the final day of the fair, Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation was jointly awarded 3rd position in the Best Stall category by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
